Project Overview
EnDura is a data-driven app concept designed to support recreational bettors interested in professional female mountain biking. It combines rider performance, race characteristics, and weather conditions, presenting them in a visually accessible way to support more informed betting decisions.
Problem
Recreational bettors lack accessible and understandable data when betting on female MTB races. Key performance, race, and weather variables are difficult to interpret, leading to uninformed decisions.
Solution
A data-driven app that visualizes rider, race, and weather data to support informed betting decisions. Information is structured for clarity, not prediction.
Audience
Recreational bettors with an interest in mountain biking and female sports. Users seek better decision-making and deeper engagement with the sport.
Role
Product design. Focus on concept definition, information structure, and MVP prototyping.
Status
Concept project with an MVP prototype. No release, adoption, or performance metrics are specified.
Context
Making informed betting decisions in professional mountain biking requires more than rider performance alone. Race characteristics and weather conditions significantly influence outcomes, yet this information is often fragmented or hard to interpret, particularly in female MTB racing. EnDura is positioned within this gap, bringing relevant contextual and performance data together in a single, interpretable interface.
Problem Definition
Recreational bettors interested in female mountain biking lack accessible and interpretable information when placing bets. Relevant data exists but is often complex or scattered, resulting in uncertainty and reduced confidence.
Audience & Needs
EnDura targets recreational bettors interested in mountain biking and female sports, including users with or without prior MTB experience. Core needs include clear access to relevant data, understandable performance comparisons, and contextual insight into how races and weather affect outcomes.
Concept & Strategy
EnDura is conceived as a decision-support tool, not a prediction engine. The strategy focuses on structuring and visualizing data so users can form their own informed judgments without being overwhelmed. Information hierarchy and visual clarity enable an overview-first experience with progressive access to detail.
User Journey
Before EnDura, users approach betting with limited clarity and high uncertainty, often relying on intuition or incomplete information. With EnDura, users can explore rider performance, race characteristics, and weather conditions in one place, enabling more confident comparisons and decisions.
Design Process
The process progressed through iterative prototyping, starting with lo-fi information architecture, followed by mid-fi usability testing, and culminating in a hi-fi MVP prototype. Design efforts focused on balancing information density with readability in a dashboard context.
MVP Scope & Features
The MVP focuses on supporting informed decision-making through structured access to key data. Core elements include: Home overview (races, riders, weather), Rider profiles with performance traits, Race details (format, terrain, maps), Weather forecasts with contextual detail, Progressive disclosure, Context influence toggle.
Learnings & Next Steps
Information hierarchy proved critical in defining the MVP scope within an information-rich dashboard. Clear navigation and progressive disclosure are essential to avoid overload. The project may be handed over to a web development cohort for possible implementation. No deployment details are specified.
